Tales from the Taverns production update.
over 8 years ago – Mon, Dec 18, 2017 at 10:09:20 PM

Sorry for being out of communication for so long on this project. No one ever wants to hear excuses but due to the hurricane and other medical issues with Mark's son we have not been communicating as we should have been.

What is the status of the game? Well the news is not good right now on the manufacturing front. We have been working all year to resolve some of these manufacturing issues. The cards went to print on 6/17/2017. The results of our sample were not good to be blunt my 7 year old could have cut the cards out better. We requested them to make corrections and send us a second sample which we received just before hurricane Irma hit. These were in the same condition as the previous samples and we made the choice to go with a different factory at this point.

Right now we are working on getting new quotes for the game. We need to make sure they can make the components correctly and get this game done correctly.

At this time I know some backers are upset with delays. While we appreciate the frustration with not having your game into your hands we have to make sure this game is done correctly the first time.

If you would like to look at other options for this kickstarter please send me an email at [email protected]

Hurricane Irma
over 8 years ago – Tue, Sep 05, 2017 at 07:10:41 PM

Hello Minions,

Vile Genius Games is headquartered in Davie, Florida which is about 5 miles west of Ft. Lauderdale. If you have seen the news Irma is a Cat 5 storm heading directly for South Florida. If this storm continues its current track it could hit with devastating damage to the tri county area. This could mean we lose power, internet, and huge amount of structural damage.

This is not the first hurricane we have been through and it will not be the last. However we are going to asking to please bare with us as we might lose internet for a considerable amount of time. During Hurricane Wilma we were down a complete month. This could mean lack of communication and possible delays.

Sorry for any inconvenience but we are excited to get this game out to backers as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Mark Sierens

Production update 12
over 8 years ago – Wed, Jul 19, 2017 at 11:42:11 AM

Hello backers,

It has been a while and we are sorry for not updating on Kickstarter updates on production.

The production, editing, and graphic design of the game is complete. We have been waiting for two backers to respond with their goblin designs. This should be completed by the end of the month. This has not stopped over all production as we have sent the files out for a sample. We should have that by the end of the month as well. Once we receive the production sample we can move forward with final approval and with everything going well have these delivered before October.

Sorry for any delays,

The Vile Genius Team.

Profile name change
almost 9 years ago – Tue, May 09, 2017 at 12:15:35 AM

Hello backers,

For the better part of 3 years now this Kickstarter profile has used my personal name Mark Sierens. However since I will be running for Mayor of the Town of Davie, the Florida Elections Commission has given me an opinion that I cannot continue to use Kickstarter to raise funds for any projects that use my personal name. Since this profile is using my personal name the ruling for the FEC is that it could appear that people pledging could be attempting to pledge to my campaign over the legal limits allowed.

After talking with the FEC, my lawyer, and Kickstarter, it was decided that the profile name will be changed to Vile Genius Games. Since this is the Kickstarter we use for the company to get our games funded, this was a great compromise and easy to transition to. Nothing will change in regards to your pledges, rewards, or how we service our backers. The only thing that will change is instead of backing Mark Sierens, the name will be Vile Genius Games.

Thank you for your time,

 Mark Sierens
 CEO Vile Genius Games.
